Snowflake Tag for a Dog Biscuit Wreath!

While shopping on our annual Christmas Church Fair Day - our beloved tradition of visiting local church's holiday craft fairs to find great handmade gifts during November, we found this great DOG BISCUIT WREATH and fell in love with it! So we bought it for a neighbour's pooch Lucy, a friend to our beloved dog Maggie! It was wrapped wonderfully, but no tag.  So when I found Impression Obsessions Challenge Quick Holiday Gifts  I decided to add a tag to the wreath and enter the challenge as well.  [click on link to take you to Impression Obsessions blog] It took minutes to make a quick tag using the Large Snowflake Die and a simple scalloped circle and a wee bit of twine. I left the snowflake diecut mainly intact for a bold look. The small snowflake I did remove (from the center), I used on the back of the tag. Easy peasy :) I added tiny red gems to the interior of the snowflake as the wreath's wrapping has a pretty elaborate ribbon but I adjust...

YNS Challenge #5 Colour Trio

Another fun challenge over at Your Next Stamp's Blog ....and I made a very simple card for my entry!  More simple than my normal choice but I have tons going on right now, so this was a quickie for me! But I just received two teeny-weeny stamps from YNS last week....and I am anticipating getting a jar die  soon and thought these little Fiona stamps would look adorable stamped 'inside' the jars - so I am using one of them for today's card. The challenge asks for a colour trio of lime green, pink and teal.   My card is just a simple one that I cut in a different way other than normal and added a pink pocket containing a blank tag which could be used for a gift tag or a bookmark perhaps. My embellishments are a mix of ribbons....and that's it! My pictures are a little darker than in real life as I took them tonight - sometimes I wish I was  a much better photographer, sigh!   The little gal is MINI DAY DREAM FHIONA Thanks for stopping b...

DIY Monogram Initial to Customize a Gift Tag and Other Gift Wrap Ideas!

BIRTHDAYS - GIFTS - HOW CAN WE PERSONALIZE GIFT WRAPPING?   Consider using supplies from our personal craft collections or altering commercial gift wrap products - and it's not too hard if you look at it from a new perspective. What do you possess on hand that could help make your gift tag more 'custom' or add more pizzaz to your gift wrap?  Myself - I'll experiment with just about everything. TRY THESE QUICK IDEAS:           1)  a PAPER FLOWER made from your scallop or circle punch.  Other punches are out there that can do this as well, just look here at my ORNAMENT PUNCH tutorials or posts to see more options.  I also made a lazy paper flower by twisting a strip of gift wrap loosely and gluing to a paper circle.  I cut out leaves from scraps - she loved it!           2)  Wire up a MONOGRAM INITIAL using thin wire and some jewellery supply beads or bugles! After adding bead...

Create your own Gift Bag Tag or Topper!

Carouse through the gift wrap aisle of a Hallmark store and see the gift tag 'toppers' - you know the decorative tags that just stick on the front of a bag or on a wrapped parcel?  They are more for " decoration " than for tags. Anyways....they were all cute in one way or another, but I was thinking, for that price - we sooooo could to-ta-lly do ones ourselves!!!! So there I am last night - looking at the last of my I CE C REAM P ARLOR paper [see SU!'s 2011 Sale-A-Bration]. I had paper - I had buttons - I had ribbon. All co-ordinating, hmmmm....then it struck me to use my   Ornament Punch to create a vase ... use my buttons as flowers... and use the ribbon as a gift bag handle!!!              I was done in no time! [well, okay, 30 mins!]            Ta da!  I give you my GIFT TAG/TOPPER!   It's a little gift bag itself, ha ha!  Ain't it cute!  CLICK on pict...

Beautiful Shaving Foam Tags!

I really am having a great deal of fun with shaving foam - almost cracked a rib laughing when I told a friend I bumped into that I was giving a class on shaving foam and she sort of paused and said "what kinda of class ARE you giving that involves shaving foam!?" ....and that's when I realized for the first time how it sounds when you say it that way - - and I was "NO! not like what you're thinking! Or whatever you're thinking!! ha ha!" {she's a nurse - so } - -well, anyways we both had a good laugh. But here is some of my first results with it - I've made some lovely tags! See the background is the paper that has been marble-ized with the shaving foam and inks? Then I used some Stampin' Up Big Shot Dies {one has a flower which was cut in paper and tissue}, and some cut out pieces from various stamps to make 'chic' tags! It's pleasant to sit and craft with bits and bobs - like decorating a safety pin with beads {pull it apart...
