Embossed Hearts Valentine Card

Recall my recurring theme this year is to try NEW THINGS? I love-love-LOVE this style.. white-on-white 'embossing' with washy colourful accents "peeking out"!  It's soooo pretty!   I am pleased to say the projects were fun to make :)   A COLOURFUL WASH OF HEARTS.... First create a wash by dropping various ink refill colours next to one another onto a plate along with a small amount of water - *** avoid mixing the colours too much .  Have white cardstock waiting. Next using some very simple heart foam stamps, I dipped a stamp partially into one colour and then turned the stamp and dipped another part into a second colour, and so on.  Be careful! Dipping too much may make a muddy result. Stamp your design onto white cardstock, I stamped  an arc of hearts, masking some in the process.  The results were very rainbow-coloured indeed! ....EMBOSS OVER-TOP IN WHITE While pretty enough,  I moved onto the next stage....Clean your stam...

Rue Des Fleurs Valentine Card

Happy Valentine's Day! Today I am posting a Valentine Card I sent to my good friend, Maria. Maria and I are both kindred spirits in that a) we love making cards and crafting, and b) we used to be on the same SU Inks Team. Nowadays, we exchange cards and naturally Valentine's Day is a great day for card lovers!  I hope lots and lots of young and old couples, friends and family members and professionals, students - everyone receives or gives a Valentines to someone special today !!!  And as always, if YOU know someone who could use a nice surprise - give them one with a kind gesture in the form of a little something you made.  It could make their week! OK - here it is.....featuring Stampin' Up!'s RUE DES FLEURS Stamp Set.  I know I got this back nearly a year ago {really?}...but I was kinda waiting for a special day, so I used it - hurray!   I also used a new embossing folder I picked up last week, Cuttlebug's PINKING STITCH. I really love it! My l...

How to Create an Interesting Card and Letter for a Friend! Use Special Touches !

Hi Stampers! I know back on April 16th I posted this card - BUT that was before I mailed it!  Since then, I have mailed it to Australia - and my friend "Angel Dee" should be getting it soon {I hope}.....and I wanted to share how and what I sent her! Well, remember this card - I love it still, and will def'ly make more! Our Embossing Folder - Framed Tulips sure makes all the difference doesn't it?  Now, I posted a poem inside and so I decided a hand-written letter tucked inside would be a great way to stay in touch, but of course, not just any letter right? Here is my letter - I created an interesting border with an old punch  {I don't use this punch by a company who shall remain nameless because their punches only work on lightweight paper! - another good reason why I like Stampin' Up! tools - just sayin'! } ...plus I made two special 'ovals' to write our names in!  I used a couple of our oval punches and then used the 'negative...

Stampin' Up! Textured Impressions Embossing Folders

Here's a card I just made to send a family member!  Did you know that you can emboss a full size A2 cardfront with our Textured Impressions Embossing Folders - in one easy run through the Big Shot machine?   Or not!    For my white cardstock top layer, I  inserted my cardstock only part-way, about 4-6 rows of polka dots deep and then ran it through creating a top embossed border and I repeated this for the bottom border!  So cool! Stampin' Up! Supplies:   Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder # 117335 I love embossing!  It really adds the elegance - or fun,  that pushes your card to the ultimate level! Here is another of my example - one of my past FAVOURITE PROJECTS! Shown partial-embossed card set, and embossed  butterfly accent. Polka Dots are a must in my opinion - if you would like your very own Perfect Polka Dots folder, I'd be pleased to help you order this embossing folder, the BIG SHOT Die-Cutting a...

President Aquino - Dedication Card for a Inspiring Woman

Corazon Aquino (Jan 25,1933 - Aug 1, 2009) I always feel particularly touched when a greatly known and courageous woman passes on, and its no different now. Sadly, the world is grieving with the Phillipines as they have lost a wonderful woman - their former and 11th President and Asia's first woman president. I made a card in her honour and reading how yellow was her favourite colour and that the streets rained yellow confetti as her countrymen paid tribute to her, I therefore chose yellow as my starting point - discreetly - along with flowers. I opened up one of my latest accessories, Stampin' Up!'s Textured Impressions embossing folder called Elegant Bouquet (see above photo) . It works so easily - just like pressing butter! I used artist brushes and pastel chalks to colour the raised design on vanilla cardstock. The ribbon slider I stamped the crown on to was a hand-made number I created using corner scissors. Tip : pencil guide lines on the back to help you l...
