Love this Halloween Poem!

Here's a cute poem for a card if you need one....remember to include the author's name! HALLOWEEN MAGIC A bald-headed ghost Drank some witches' brew And on top of his head A strange thing grew. It was pointed and tall And black as a bat With stringy long hair Where his head was flat. The sad little ghost Didn't want any hair Or a black pointed hat So he said, "Witch beware!" Then he chanted some words With a spell-casting switch And gave Halloween Night A bald-headed witch!! ~Barbara M. Hales~           Now - wasn't that a cute one!

Holiday Cards - Snowmen from JOLLY OLD ST. NICK by Stampin`Up!

What is a Christmas season without our Snowmen, right! Well I have created this card from an example I spotted in our Stampin`Up! catalogue - and since I had seen the card at an early date, I decided to order all the elements to make this card. You will need a Big Shot and the following materials:    Cardstock = Baja Breeze  Crumb Cake (formerly Kraft)  Real Red    Ink Pad & Markers - Early Espresso  Real Red or Red of any kind and White Ink    Border Punch - I`ve used our latest from our Spring Mini Holiday, the    Big Shot Die - Two Tags                        - Textured Impressions Folder - I used 2 types for the background   Stamps -  Greeting - Bright Christmas  and Snowman from   Jolly Old Saint Nick    Glass Glitter - see new Mini-Holiday Catalogue - I`ve used `SILVER`    Threads: crochet twist in red, vanilla, silver metallic thread    and of course - adhesive, lol.

....plus a whole lot of other things!!!  His everyone....I have been a bit quiet on my blog but not so in my craftin`room! I`ve been a busy gal by steadfastly making christmas card after christmas card!  Not too shabby either - unlike my usual rush at the last minute - this year I am determined to be waaaay ready! So here is one card for you to see...I will post my details on how to make this card once I get back home later today........ It`s my Vintage inspired Santa Claus card!  Hope you like it! TECHNIQUE First off....get yourself set up for making cards for the holidays....its less hassle if you have a sort of `system`approach even if  it`s organized in a temporary fashion such as putting everything away in a large box or pretty basket when your finished for the day. Have a nice box to put the finished cards into (along with `co-ordinating stamped` envelopes!  Here I have my table set up for making this particular card...and you can see that I made several of each part as

CARD MAKING 101 Cutting Your Cardstock

Hello and Welcome to my blog! If you are NEW to rubberstamping or are interested in making your own CARDS - then this post is for you! I will explore the "basics" with you in CARD MAKING 101, so you can get started!  Learn more in time so you can be just as fascinated with this craft as I am!!! You may want to read RUBBERSTAMPING BASIC EQUIPMENT to find out what supplies are required to get started. Alright - let's get you started!    CUTTING YOUR CARDSTOCK. Cardstock comes in 2 sizes: 8 1/2 x 11 inches and 12 x 12 inches.  Therefore we tend to make card sizes which maximize the amount of cards we can cut from one piece of cardstock. This involves the standard card shapes A2 and A6 cards, as well as small Notecards. Then we have the Multiple Fold Cards or any card which involves a different shape.  Naturally you can cut your cards to the size you wish!  Many people like larger cards and simply can fold the cardstock in half - its nice to experiment and design your

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Hello!  What a fab day today! We have been blessed with great weather for our Thanksgiving, yes? We actually decided on the spot to take our lunch out to the nearby park and play a little ball with our pooch! Was very nice - and now we are at home making pumpkin pie and ...aprons!  Yup! We found some fantastic french style fabrics the other day and decided to make aprons so that we can use them later today when we cook dinner.  We are celebrating early as my daughter is off to visit with other relatives tomorrow.  So I will have those apron projects to share later :) Meanwhile, I changed the decorations in my china cabinet and put out my "GIVE THANKS" blocks - and well, you'll see in the pics! I also am posting some Thanksgiving style cards today....so let's look! Please CLICK on pictures for a better look :) Now here are the cards....you'll recognize them from STAMPIN' UP!'s MINI HOLIDAY CATALOG. But they are simple to make - just simple stam

Another salute to World Card Making Day 2010!

This time - I used the same cardstock tones but in a more "whimisical " fashion!  And a little 'word play' - have a look..... I created a flower with the layering of lots 'n' lots of hearts created with a punch.  To add interest, I took separate words from the greeting "LIFE HAPPENS, LOVE HELPS" and glued them on in a criss-cross fashion - and there is the whimsical nature I mentioned - easy!  Other interesting bits include the fuzzy yarn, the torn edges, and the tab accent. A gemstone center for the flower in the same oranges keeps the monochromatic feel, but it would of looked equally nice using a nice antique brad which is so trendy now! I wonder how many of us made cards for today....hmmm?

My Aunts " Because I Care" card on this World Card Making Day!

Helloooooo! It's late and I need to get to bed but not before...... ...showing you my card for my lovely Aunt who is 97!  She is incredible and I don't get around to sending cards as often as I should!  So I hope to make it up to her with one of these.....hers is the one with the full set of pearl/gemstones along the bottom {I ran out on the other one - it happens ha ha} CLICK on PICTURES to see a larger view. [make 2 cards at the same time!] For her - coming from the era that she does, a modern card design just would not do!  So I made a sort of vintage style . Its a pretty stamp set and very versatile - you could do many styles with this stamp! I stamped the flower 3 separate times in Chocolate Chip ink - and coloured each image in different chalk shades from yellows to oranges to cherry.  Then I carefully cut away some of the yellow flower and orange flower to make 2 layers to go on top of the main stamp image which was coloured in the deeper cherry to help creat
