HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Hello!  What a fab day today!

We have been blessed with great weather for our Thanksgiving, yes? We actually decided on the spot to take our lunch out to the nearby park and play a little ball with our pooch! Was very nice - and now we are at home making pumpkin pie and ...aprons!  Yup! We found some fantastic french style fabrics the other day and decided to make aprons so that we can use them later today when we cook dinner.  We are celebrating early as my daughter is off to visit with other relatives tomorrow.  So I will have those apron projects to share later :)

Meanwhile, I changed the decorations in my china cabinet and put out my "GIVE THANKS" blocks - and well, you'll see in the pics!

I also am posting some Thanksgiving style cards today....so let's look!
Please CLICK on pictures for a better look :)

Now here are the cards....you'll recognize them from STAMPIN' UP!'s MINI HOLIDAY CATALOG.
But they are simple to make - just simple stamping and layers with a little glitter in the center of the first card {hard to photo I'm afraid!}....

BUT THIS ONE is my absolute favourite!  I learned how to make a card from another demo, DINA on the method to CUT 'half' a scalloped circle on the fold using the BIG SHOT and the SCALLOP CIRCLE BIGZ DIE!!! Thanks Dina!    But fooling around, I discovered on my own how to cut the whole circle and replace it back in to the card so that it swivels outward.  Then more fooling around, and well...here are the results!  I can only make a video or give a class for this one cuz seriously, I am not into all the work it would take to describe how, ha ha!  But isn't it fun - and the possibilities are endless!

friends who serve me in such friendly style at Michel's!

Here you can see that the cards hang out from their card, on the fold line.
The cards will fit into a 5 1/2 in. envelope. And when the recipient takes
out the card, it all "pops" out nicely!

Well...off to finish dinner and check on that pie!

HAPPY    T H A N K S G I V I N G  CANADA!

Beautiful Birthday Card from my Daughter

I was ' speechless ' on my birthday when my daughter presented me with her own hand-made card for me! Reason is that when we got up that morning we were in each other's company and yet somehow she managed to sneak off into my craft room and pull this together without me knowing it - - I was totally caught off guard, lol -- and loved it!!! She has always impressed me with her creativity because she doesn't do hand-craft items very often - she is more of an 'online creator' - I have her to thank for all my web banners and general blog technical help :) I was happy to see the cute butterfly resting on the branch, that is something I would not of thought of! Anyways, it was a lovely gesture and a thoughtful card. Beverly SUPPLIES LIST  Stampin' Up!   Eastern Bloom and Kindred Spirit stamp sets. Bella Rose  Designer Paper Pink Pirouette cardstock.

YNS Challenge #3 YNSC3

Hi folks, Having fun this week playing with my fav summer theme of sea creatures!  And to justify it even more, I am playing along with YOUR NEXT STAMP's CHALLENGE #3 "Anything Goes"!   You can see their challenge details HERE ! Deadline is Weds. midnight. I already was toying with ideas involving 3D projects lately and wanted to do something within a frame, and so I put two'n'two together and here is my entry....my " Mermaids Playing in the Sun Shadow Box ". The frame was one I had for awhile, maybe two years?  And my stamps from Your Next Stamp are the adorable mermaid set, Happy Birthday Mermaid which I acquired about two years ago also! Coincidence - I think not! LOL! Later I plan to embellish this even more once I find my darn box of tiny shells!  Maybe some charms? Heck who knows! :) I am going to write up a more detailed post about creating this by the week-end, so return here if you care for that.  Tomorrow I am going to be trainin

Fun with Tags!

That is exactly what I had with this tag.....amongst all the oodles of cards I am making for a craft fair coming up, I am taking breaks by making projects that use all kinds of different elements.  Sort of like a cardstock 'stew', lol.                                                          Cute  Gift Tag or Notecard TAG BASE  1. First, I started with a small piece of cardstock of 3 x 6 inches, folded to create a square 3 x 3 inch tag. 2.  I layered a BAJA BREEZE cardstock square on top of the tag - I used my SCALLOP TRIM CORNER PUNCH to create the pretty corners! 3. To rev it up a bit, I glittered the bottom of the tag with some of Dazzling Diamonds. TAG DECORATION 4. I stamped  my lil' WALRUS  on a punched out '1-3/4 in.' Circle  of Whisper White cardstock  - then while I "masked" him, I stamped the background with a snowflake stamp from JOLLY OLD ST NICK set. 5. Next I placed the stamped circle onto a larger green circle, and and trans
