Paper Garden's Canada Day Card Challenge - Part B Banner

Welcome to Part B of my Paper Garden's Canada Day Card Challenge!  Yay! Please if you like this project, read and follow the links I posted at the end. CANADA DAY BANNER If you read my earlier post, then you will know I created a Canada Day BANNER to go along with my decor and then to take along on my picnic to dress up the picnic table....its a little thing, but a big thing too :) First, my creative process went a little like this:..."hmmm, what else can I do with my maple leaf die that would show off its simple form? "  Ponder, ponder.....pondering, then bingo!   When in doubt, I love to turn to banners!  There is sooooo much you can do with a banner - decorate it willy, nilly,  go quick and simple, elegant, cute....what-ever you like! So I made 3 sections rather quickly by using my Spellbinder's maple leaf die.  I used Paper Garden's Basic Red and Aura Solar White cardstock.  I cut the shapes from the white paper and layered them ov...

Dyed Coffee Filter Flowers for Fall Wreath

Boy, its nearly Oct 31rst and another Halloween is dead set to arrive! Where does the year go!! This year I suffered through some illness and so my Halloween is weak this year, but we did decorate the patio - I may be down at times, but I'm not out, lol!!! However, before Fall came along I had done an interesting project with COFFEE FILTERS.  And the results were SPECTACULAR -- I dyed plain ol' generic coffee filters and turned them into flowers and I swear to you that when they are adorning a wreath, or gathered into a 'floral' arrangement, they look so real! CLOSE-UP DYED COFFEE FILTER "FLOWERS" {note the dyed coffee filter "flower" beside the rust sunflower - pretty good, eh?} MORE PICTURES BELOW and SUPPLY LIST Click on pictures for enlarged view.  I am not showing the process of the flower creation - for that you can Google or Youtube " DIY Coffee Filter Flowers" and you will see plenty of tutorials on this subject...

Easter Cake Stand Centerpiece

Happy Easter! I'm happy today because its Easter {closer and closer to "patio" weather - yeah!} and another chance to relax with no cares or worries for the day, but a chance to bond with family and friends. We already had a nice surprise with friends bringing us a Easter basket of homemade cupcakes - how sweet of them!  Thanks to the Moores - Mom Mary, Emily, Bridget and Margaret!  The girls {the guys we barely see, lol} are terrif! But I didn't do too much this year for decorating but I DID manage a centerpiece! You can turn those CAKE STANDS into great centerpieces - and actually, the Moores gave me this cake stand many years ago for my b-day! Here is how I made it: I simply arrange some faux leaf brances entwined with straw grass around the plate. In the center I placed a small twig basket. Next I arranged my ceramic BUNNIES. I put a small can in the center of the twig basket [weighed down with marbles] and placed a small 4 inch doily on the top of the ...
