Baby Notecard Set - Soft and Easy!

Hi - looking for a Baby Shower Gift?

I designed a notecard set which uses really simple shapes and soft colours which could be used as a gift for an expectant Mom - or even for yourself if you'd like to have a sweet collection of ready-made cards.  I chose soft colours when I was first experimenting, and liked the results, but you could substitute many colour combinations!

Recycle some scraps. Create a fun grid of polka dots by using the small 1/2 inch circle punch......and our RETIRING Trio Flower Punch (can't believe it!) to add interest.
A butterfly - highlights the polka dot as well.

The box is 9 inch x 5-1/2 inch  with a 1/2 inch base scored in the middle. Two strips of paper, scored to make 3 sections, each 1/2 inch wide, are attached along the sides.

The front panel has a half -circle cut away to create a pocket to tuck a tag into.

Embossing the cardstock with polka dots and a simple design means the cards can be used for many purposes - thank you, birth announcement, 1rst birthday......etc. Flexibility!

To help the appearance, I staggered the height of the cards - this way,
all the colours show when stored in the box.

Close-up of box and cut-out front section with tag.

Time to make: 1 hour or less.
Level of Difficulty: Easy

Hope you try this - email me for instructions if you like!

YNS Challenge #3 YNSC3

Hi folks, Having fun this week playing with my fav summer theme of sea creatures!  And to justify it even more, I am playing along with YOUR NEXT STAMP's CHALLENGE #3 "Anything Goes"!   You can see their challenge details HERE ! Deadline is Weds. midnight. I already was toying with ideas involving 3D projects lately and wanted to do something within a frame, and so I put two'n'two together and here is my entry....my " Mermaids Playing in the Sun Shadow Box ". The frame was one I had for awhile, maybe two years?  And my stamps from Your Next Stamp are the adorable mermaid set, Happy Birthday Mermaid which I acquired about two years ago also! Coincidence - I think not! LOL! Later I plan to embellish this even more once I find my darn box of tiny shells!  Maybe some charms? Heck who knows! :) I am going to write up a more detailed post about creating this by the week-end, so return here if you care for that.  Tomorrow I am going to be trainin...

Beautiful Birthday Card from my Daughter

I was ' speechless ' on my birthday when my daughter presented me with her own hand-made card for me! Reason is that when we got up that morning we were in each other's company and yet somehow she managed to sneak off into my craft room and pull this together without me knowing it - - I was totally caught off guard, lol -- and loved it!!! She has always impressed me with her creativity because she doesn't do hand-craft items very often - she is more of an 'online creator' - I have her to thank for all my web banners and general blog technical help :) I was happy to see the cute butterfly resting on the branch, that is something I would not of thought of! Anyways, it was a lovely gesture and a thoughtful card. Beverly SUPPLIES LIST  Stampin' Up!   Eastern Bloom and Kindred Spirit stamp sets. Bella Rose  Designer Paper Pink Pirouette cardstock.

Fun with Tags!

That is exactly what I had with this tag.....amongst all the oodles of cards I am making for a craft fair coming up, I am taking breaks by making projects that use all kinds of different elements.  Sort of like a cardstock 'stew', lol.                                                          Cute  Gift Tag or Notecard TAG BASE  1. First, I started with a small piece of cardstock of 3 x 6 inches, folded to create a square 3 x 3 inch tag. 2.  I layered a BAJA BREEZE cardstock square on top of the tag - I used my SCALLOP TRIM CORNER PUNCH to create the pretty corners! 3. To rev it up a bit, I glittered the bottom of the tag with some of Dazzling Diamonds. TAG DECORATION 4. I stamped  my lil' WALRUS  on a punched out '1-3/4 in.' Circle  of Whisper White cardstock  - then while I "maske...
