I look like a crime scene from an old episode on CSI! Got playing to create some interesting backgrounds ...

And while I was left with messy finge
rs and palm, I totally loved the process!

 The process is to
1) Dribble some ink drops from your source of liquid ink refill bottles onto a non-absorbant surface - I used parchment baking paper.
 2) Nearby have  smooth or glossy cardstock. Glossy cardstock would give the most dramatic results but I managed with some regular white cardstock.
 3) Next you lay some flexible plastic film (saran wrap) over the ink and using fingertips gently squish the plastic. You're aiming to create flat smooth spots with less ink and wrinkles where the ink can puddle up, and repeat all over... dragging the plastic film and smoothing with your fingertips simultaneously.
Seriously its not rocket science and the more you play at it - the more you'll discover!
 4) After moving the ink around till you're satisfied, carefully 'lift' the plastic up revealing the inky surface.
 5) Now place a section of  paper overtop and the contact will transfer the ink pattern to the paper.... Cool!
Remember, this is creating a special effect paper and there is no right or wrong way... so fun it up!

SEE WHAT I MADE WITH MY BACKGROUNDS ON MY NEXT POST - ITS GREAT!!  Bye for now :)

Beautiful Birthday Card from my Daughter

I was ' speechless ' on my birthday when my daughter presented me with her own hand-made card for me! Reason is that when we got up that morning we were in each other's company and yet somehow she managed to sneak off into my craft room and pull this together without me knowing it - - I was totally caught off guard, lol -- and loved it!!! She has always impressed me with her creativity because she doesn't do hand-craft items very often - she is more of an 'online creator' - I have her to thank for all my web banners and general blog technical help :) I was happy to see the cute butterfly resting on the branch, that is something I would not of thought of! Anyways, it was a lovely gesture and a thoughtful card. Beverly SUPPLIES LIST  Stampin' Up!   Eastern Bloom and Kindred Spirit stamp sets. Bella Rose  Designer Paper Pink Pirouette cardstock.

YNS Challenge #3 YNSC3

Hi folks, Having fun this week playing with my fav summer theme of sea creatures!  And to justify it even more, I am playing along with YOUR NEXT STAMP's CHALLENGE #3 "Anything Goes"!   You can see their challenge details HERE ! Deadline is Weds. midnight. I already was toying with ideas involving 3D projects lately and wanted to do something within a frame, and so I put two'n'two together and here is my entry....my " Mermaids Playing in the Sun Shadow Box ". The frame was one I had for awhile, maybe two years?  And my stamps from Your Next Stamp are the adorable mermaid set, Happy Birthday Mermaid which I acquired about two years ago also! Coincidence - I think not! LOL! Later I plan to embellish this even more once I find my darn box of tiny shells!  Maybe some charms? Heck who knows! :) I am going to write up a more detailed post about creating this by the week-end, so return here if you care for that.  Tomorrow I am going to be trainin

Fun with Tags!

That is exactly what I had with this tag.....amongst all the oodles of cards I am making for a craft fair coming up, I am taking breaks by making projects that use all kinds of different elements.  Sort of like a cardstock 'stew', lol.                                                          Cute  Gift Tag or Notecard TAG BASE  1. First, I started with a small piece of cardstock of 3 x 6 inches, folded to create a square 3 x 3 inch tag. 2.  I layered a BAJA BREEZE cardstock square on top of the tag - I used my SCALLOP TRIM CORNER PUNCH to create the pretty corners! 3. To rev it up a bit, I glittered the bottom of the tag with some of Dazzling Diamonds. TAG DECORATION 4. I stamped  my lil' WALRUS  on a punched out '1-3/4 in.' Circle  of Whisper White cardstock  - then while I "masked" him, I stamped the background with a snowflake stamp from JOLLY OLD ST NICK set. 5. Next I placed the stamped circle onto a larger green circle, and and trans
