Paper Garden's Canada Day Card Challenge 2015 - Part A CARDS

Hello Everyone!!
Canada is turning a glorious 148  years old - still a baby!!! And our flag as it looks now, is 50!
I hope you have decided to celebrate in your own way on July 1rst ....I'm hearing plans kicking around to do BBQ's, fireworks, getting away...to just kicking back a bit.  If my day goes as planned, we'll picnic. And give anyone who will be working on Canada Day a nod, they deserve it!

My dog won't know anything is different other than she has some tasty treats coming her way :)

Other ways to celebrate include:
Paper Garden's Canada Day Card Challenge

I have taken up the challenge and decided to make 2 styles of card...one a little fancy and one more simple!
And here they are....ta da!

#1 Fancy Canada Day Card
It's made using a variety of Paper Garden's cardstock

Aura Solar White, cover weight =  card base, white
Nesting Dies *
Poptone Wild Cherry =  red fancy background,  San Francisco Die
Star Dream Crystal Metallic = white center -  Basic Frame A Die
Accents
Aura Solar White =  white leaf sprigs - Lorelai Leaf Outline Die
Star Dream Jupiter Metallic = red flower - Sophia Flower Punch
Star Dream Crystal Metallic = white flower

I did not have a " Canada " stamp of any kind, so I thought I'd hand-write my message!  Right? An inside, I did have a good greeting to go out to my friend -  have a " great day " indeed!!!!

[* Nesting Dies are part of Sue Wilson's California Collection]

#2 Simple "eh?" Canada Day Card

Well, I finally got to use my Spellbinder's Maple Leaf die other than for thanksgiving cards! But what really got me excited was the chance to use our colloquial phrase " eh? " as my heading, haha!!!  I mean unless you send out alot of invitations for Canada Day, its not too often you'd use this, eh?

So its really a simple, simple card....hardly needs explaining :)
Supplies are Paper-Garden's cardstock:
Basic Red Matte, cover weight  = card base, red
Aura Solar White, cover weight = maple leaf, white + letters................then glitter, of course ;)

How-ever......I did NOT stop here......look further to Part B as I show how I made a BANNER, and a cool and yummy healthy {gasp!} dessert for your CANADA DAY CELEBRATION - even if you celebrate alone, do it in style, lol.

Cheers

Such great cards! The first looks beautiful with the flowers and sprigs - plus that gorgeous bow! Looks great inside too! And the second is so fun with the big "eh?". Perfectly Canadian!

Beautiful Birthday Card from my Daughter

I was ' speechless ' on my birthday when my daughter presented me with her own hand-made card for me! Reason is that when we got up that morning we were in each other's company and yet somehow she managed to sneak off into my craft room and pull this together without me knowing it - - I was totally caught off guard, lol -- and loved it!!! She has always impressed me with her creativity because she doesn't do hand-craft items very often - she is more of an 'online creator' - I have her to thank for all my web banners and general blog technical help :) I was happy to see the cute butterfly resting on the branch, that is something I would not of thought of! Anyways, it was a lovely gesture and a thoughtful card. Beverly SUPPLIES LIST  Stampin' Up!   Eastern Bloom and Kindred Spirit stamp sets. Bella Rose  Designer Paper Pink Pirouette cardstock.

YNS Challenge #3 YNSC3

Hi folks, Having fun this week playing with my fav summer theme of sea creatures!  And to justify it even more, I am playing along with YOUR NEXT STAMP's CHALLENGE #3 "Anything Goes"!   You can see their challenge details HERE ! Deadline is Weds. midnight. I already was toying with ideas involving 3D projects lately and wanted to do something within a frame, and so I put two'n'two together and here is my entry....my " Mermaids Playing in the Sun Shadow Box ". The frame was one I had for awhile, maybe two years?  And my stamps from Your Next Stamp are the adorable mermaid set, Happy Birthday Mermaid which I acquired about two years ago also! Coincidence - I think not! LOL! Later I plan to embellish this even more once I find my darn box of tiny shells!  Maybe some charms? Heck who knows! :) I am going to write up a more detailed post about creating this by the week-end, so return here if you care for that.  Tomorrow I am going to be trainin

Fun with Tags!

That is exactly what I had with this tag.....amongst all the oodles of cards I am making for a craft fair coming up, I am taking breaks by making projects that use all kinds of different elements.  Sort of like a cardstock 'stew', lol.                                                          Cute  Gift Tag or Notecard TAG BASE  1. First, I started with a small piece of cardstock of 3 x 6 inches, folded to create a square 3 x 3 inch tag. 2.  I layered a BAJA BREEZE cardstock square on top of the tag - I used my SCALLOP TRIM CORNER PUNCH to create the pretty corners! 3. To rev it up a bit, I glittered the bottom of the tag with some of Dazzling Diamonds. TAG DECORATION 4. I stamped  my lil' WALRUS  on a punched out '1-3/4 in.' Circle  of Whisper White cardstock  - then while I "masked" him, I stamped the background with a snowflake stamp from JOLLY OLD ST NICK set. 5. Next I placed the stamped circle onto a larger green circle, and and trans
