This is a quick card I made featuring the following budget-friendly  supplies: - Forever in Time ready-made Black Chalkboard Cards (sold with white envelopes); - Jillibean Soup Ornament Shaker Clear Stamp Set - very   budget-friendly and 9 pcs!; - Avery Elle   Happy Howl-idays Clear Stamp Set  ; - Avery Elle Happy Howl-days Die; - DoCraft    Mistletoe Die. The ornament stamp is part of Jillibean Soup's Shape Shaker Program - a series of stamps, dies and inserts to create shaker cards naturally!  But I simply wanted a 'window-style' card to show off my dog stamp. I decided to try out the new chalkboard folded cards I had bought on a whim and my mind was set on trying to create a modern style card that a young professional would like. Hey crafters! I am getting along with my holiday preparations with the end in sight, how about you?  My handmade cards that require mailing are done and all have been posted. So far I have designed each and every card 'on the spot' and while that means it takes that much longer, its a process I enjoy...like tinkering around! Here is a couple of snapshots of my craft zone where you'll find me in the morning.... ...this is my billboard where I keep some tags, a couple of cards as well as some gift cards - all of this is meant to be a sort of 'grab-n-go' spot for anyone who needs a quick gift-related item.   Here is a display on top of my stamp bookcase.  There is my daughter's candles she made in grade 3; the 2nd-hand birdhouse I found and refinished a few years ago; the wreath is from Avon maybe 10 years ago (??) and my beloved angel statue where I've hung the little beaded bell given to me by my darling Mommy Crandall who went to heaven ye...

Happy Holidays !!!   How are you doing in your holiday count-down?  Good I hope :) My style of creating cards evolves over a period of weeks as I prioritize according to: distance to mail and who'll we will be seeing first; along with how labour-intensive the cards are. Meanwhile there are the local community good-will cards - these are simple designs so I can crank them out as I move along and give them out leisurely.    Each year I lovingly lay out my crafting space...new supplies all lay waiting to make my annual DIY holiday cards - something I like to do first thing in the morning with my first coffee - before the dog wakes up, lol.  Generally I plot out a plan for designs beginning early - think August! I nearly choked upon seeing the last time I posted here -- my goodness!  So I'd better get on with it! Today's card was born out of a whim to make an autumn card. And once it was made, I decided to handwrite a poem into it. Fall, I found is a season where many poems had a melancholy tone, so I was very delighted with this poem ' October's Party ' for its simple delightful touch - and here's my card [now on its way to a friend]! It's a simple card, but I was inspired towards it by a custom made envelope  I had hanging around for at least a year....this one,  spellbinder nesting dies, handcut tag, button I glittered the bird with coppery glitter which is hard to see here but it looks really pretty!  I encourage you to try to handwrite a poem inside your cards -- keep in mind that if you go slow and try to make consistent - looking letters,  it will all look just fine in the end because what else matters than the  fact you t...

Well hello again! Today I am sharing a card which has me wondering what labels to apply to it....because it evolved from rather 'nothing' to 'something'!  It was in my stash of cards from years ago darlings - like 2008?  And it was one I initially made at one of our old Canadian Inks get-togethers [ a group of SU Demonstrators under Caroline Lebel ] .....and there it sat. And sat. It was a rather bare-minimum card IMO, nothing too fancy. So I think you can guess where this is going, right? Now, I organize my cards according to their a) purpose or b) season.  This has been in my 'Fall' seasonal cards and recently I placed a few of them in a basket on my bookshelf.  And one morning I wanted to pass along a ' note of appreciation ' to a very nice lady and I looked this card over. It had a simple design: a container of sorts holding grass and a few flowers, sitting on a strip of torn cardstock and only adorned with a ribbon. Well, that wouldn't do...

Hello to everyone! Back to blogging today, yay! Its beautiful "summer-to-fall" days here in Canada and really trying to take advantage of every lovely day. But today I am sharing a birthday card made for someone's special Mom...and while I do not know the mom in question, I figured that a nice white card featuring a peacock with its beautiful shades of greens,blues and purples would appeal to most women. So I am glad to have in my collection, INKADINKACLING's rubber stamp: Papercut Peacock . Its a nice size stamp and works great with markers meant for stamping. Using markers allows for precise colouring especially for accenting the feathers.
