Boy, another NEW YEAR has arrived!  I paused to think where are the robots around the house, and my flying car?   Not yet I'm afraid, my awesome futuristic life is still around the bend.....but hey, I'll wait some more, lol.  And it looks as if I may have to still exercise....no fancy solution there either. Sigh.  [actually I love my stretching routines....and at this time of year, do you notice the shift in the morning light-- the most fantastic sun shiny mornings. really its lovely]. SO!  I am still going to post some of my christmas cards  - and do you know why?  Because I didn't finish posting some of them, but I promised myself that I would do more holiday cards in preparation for next year, and darn, I'm gonna do that!  How about you - any similar plans? Whew what a long title! Sometimes its hard to put an aptly named title together for a project or my talent at this is minimal, but what IS important is that we share right? Right! And today I'd like to share this idea for a card with you because I think its a terrifically fun design that you could use again and again and get a "wow" reaction every time! And believe it or not, it folds into a 5 x 7 in. envelope {hurray!}...which is good for postal rates :) INSTRUCTIONS I followed the following instructions for cutting and folding.... Create the card body : CUT         6 x 11- 3/4 in     cardstock {minimum 80lb cardstock to support weight} SCORE   3- 1/4 ; 5 ; 6- 3/4 ; and 8- 1/2 inch marks FOLD     valley; mountain; mountain; valley  respectively  [creates a central panel which sticks out] Decorate each of the two flanking back panels with co-ordinating patterened paper and the central panel. Hey !  Hello......... Its been awhile since I have wandered away from my usual Stampin' Up! projects....chalk it up to time I guess! But I did dig around my 'other' favourite stamp sets to dream up this BIRTHDAY CARD for a relative who loves cats! Isn't it a real cutie-pie image of the cat and her pal just  ridiculously spoiling themselves!  I think so :) Now.... if you want to make a fun birthday card, then think of making a simple folding card - but then colour choices and embellishments will help to define your card and then the 'whole' card really delivers! Its like knowing that a group of " simple " parts - add up to one " perfect " card which will charm your recipient! Hi Stamping Friends! My card today is for a friend and I wanted to try a new folding style - I do like this! I have used : Regal Rose, Elegant Eggplant and of course, Whisper White cardstock !   But I have also used some patterned paper which I owned for some time now - gotta use up those! New floral stamp from FABULOUS FLORETS stamp set!!!   You can see it in our SUMMER MINI CATALOGUE.   I've also used our brand spankin' new MELON MAMBO EMBOSSING POWDER!  Very pretty!!  Here it is from another angle: HERE is where I found the instructions to make this - check it out!    Hello again!   Here is another of my favourite projects! Cute Pocket Notecard Set  It's a "mini-note" card set of 3 inch square notecards . This is a great way to maximize your 12 in. cardstock. The technique is called the DIAPER FOLD POUCH You can see this in several tutorials on youtube. Yes helloooo to all out in craft-cyber world! I feel really accomplished this week!  I have finished a set of gift bags for a baby shower AND a nice card in SQUASH BOOK style - both are ready to fly out the door!!! To decorate the chipboard cover, I created my very own stylized "Sakura Flower" using  Stampin' Up!'s FLORAL ISLAND BIGZ DIE (retired). It's quite the size.   I chose the Sakura flower which is adored on a national level in Japan!  It can also be referred to as the Cherry Blossom Flower. The trees are stunning when in full bloom - and its hard for the eye to take in all the beauty of a grouping of trees, its awesome!   So here it is! Sorry but the camera created a reddish hue!  I love ROSE RED in all its forms (cardstock, ribbon, ink, etc.) and it goes nicely with the GARDEN GREEN cardstock and the softer pink accents.  The patterned paper is part of a 8x8" Cardstock Pad from Stampin' Up! - they come out with a new on...
