Beverly's Stamping Beehive

Hi Stampers! I know back on April 16th I posted this card - BUT that was before I mailed it!  Since then, I have mailed it to Australia - and my friend "Angel Dee" should be getting it soon {I hope}.....and I wanted to share how and what I sent her! Well, remember this card - I love it still, and will def'ly make more! Our Embossing Folder - Framed Tulips sure makes all the difference doesn't it?  Now, I posted a poem inside and so I decided a hand-written letter tucked inside would be a great way to stay in touch, but of course, not just any letter right? Here is my letter - I created an interesting border with an old punch  {I don't use this punch by a company who shall remain nameless because their punches only work on lightweight paper! - another good reason why I like Stampin' Up! tools - just sayin'! } ...plus I made two special 'ovals' to write our names in!  I used a couple of our oval punches and then used the 'negative...

If you have a friend who is also crafty - wouldn't it be nice to make a little something for her - or him? To prepare for my upcoming OPEN HOUSE, I turned and  took my cue from our latest STAMPIN' UP! IDEA BOOK and CATALOGUE - and transferred one of the catty's idea into a project perfect "for a friend". So, I can't reveal the whole thing right now - hopefully you will drop by and see for yourself.  But I will show it here after my OPEN HOUSE is finished by AUG 4th  - so here's a peek! I apologize for my laziness with the next pic - its a bit out of focus, but I have a dog needs his walk! LOL! If only I had a photo fairy around here! But you can see the word is 'FRIEND' The main colour on this project is one of our newest: CHERRY COBBLER! It's delish!  Bye for now and have a pleasant weekend.

Hey everyone! Today my friend Hilton dropped by with something I needed to borrow and it reminded me today how to be grateful for friends!  Hilton has been like a surrogate grandfather to my daughter ever since she was knee-high to a grasshopper, and he has been selflessly doing wonderful things for us - and we hope we are doing lovely things back. And being reminded of this simple fact, that friends - true friends - are a blessing, today I am showing a card I made last month. I made it along with a young girl actually, and hers came out just terrific. So its a simple card but the trick is to make it look more sophisticated than it really is - if you want to really impress someone (wink)! The trick I like to use?  Just one of many, here it was cutting out small bits and layering them on top - like the tiny bird and flowers. It also helps to frame the "greeting" and give it a place of importance. I knew this card would be multi-coloured because of the 4 seasons represe...
