Hello, Happy Easter! Here's my Easter Card this year - in easter-y colours of turquoise and yellows!  The stamp is a recent purchase called Botanical Daffodil and its part of a floral line from Stampendous.  I have it in the wood-mount style.  I love the style and the script title " Trumpet Daffodil " which shows near the bottom. It really does look like those botanical prints!  There are a number of other flowers in the line, and hopefully I will be able to buy those too because I like the style, I like the size of the image and its wonderful stamp to colour - or use in lots of ways actually! Couple of things to mention, I tried doing some "ribbonry" techniques - or really, flowers made from embroidery ribbon methods. I clipped 5 small strips of ribbon in grosgrain blue, folded and stitched them into a 5 petal flower shape. My next "Spring" card is featuring joyful cheery colours!   I started with an interest in repeating a design in a rainbow of colours which is how I made the background for this card using the   circle-encased flower stamp from BASIC GREY'S ECO-NOTES. Your Next Stamp’s  MINI FLOWER FHIONA  was fun to colour!  I am using white cardstock I purchased from Flourishes Inc. as it is a great choice for colouring with Copic markers.  After colouring Fhiona, I cut her out with Spellbinders  BIG SCALLOPED SQUARES and cut a slightly larger red square to layer behind her. Finally, I couldn’t resist a cheery red button with 2 leaves – must have been thinking about apples – or maybe a cherry?  Once again, I mounted everything on a crisp, white card base! The card measures 4.5 x 5 inches so I’d need to make my own envelope {if I decide to mail it} – but for me, envelopes are just a side note, I LOVE designing cards with...

Spring cards are on my mind because Easter and warmer, brighter days are on their way, hurra y ! So I usually like to do 2 things with my projects about now.....I like soft, muted or cheerful, bright colour palettes. Today I combined green, lilac and white, a real fab colour combination! My first card this week also was a bit of an experiment beginning with a plaid. Here's why... ·         one of my punched border layers begins at an angle and slowly disappears by the card's right edge, ·         also the main focal point, the scalloped circle and the Spellbinders Label 13 die- cuts were off-set to the right side, ·         I attached 3 buttons over to the left in order to balance the design, ·         I turned plain white twine ‘ lilac’ by rubbing it with pastel chalk, ·         ...

   Hello again!   Here is another of my favourite projects! Cute Pocket Notecard Set  It's a "mini-note" card set of 3 inch square notecards . This is a great way to maximize your 12 in. cardstock. The technique is called the DIAPER FOLD POUCH You can see this in several tutorials on youtube. Yes helloooo to all out in craft-cyber world! I feel really accomplished this week!  I have finished a set of gift bags for a baby shower AND a nice card in SQUASH BOOK style - both are ready to fly out the door!!! To decorate the chipboard cover, I created my very own stylized "Sakura Flower" using  Stampin' Up!'s FLORAL ISLAND BIGZ DIE (retired). It's quite the size.   I chose the Sakura flower which is adored on a national level in Japan!  It can also be referred to as the Cherry Blossom Flower. The trees are stunning when in full bloom - and its hard for the eye to take in all the beauty of a grouping of trees, its awesome!   So here it is! Sorry but the camera created a reddish hue!  I love ROSE RED in all its forms (cardstock, ribbon, ink, etc.) and it goes nicely with the GARDEN GREEN cardstock and the softer pink accents.  The patterned paper is part of a 8x8" Cardstock Pad from Stampin' Up! - they come out with a new on...
