Frog and Lily Card

Another Monday - and I am slow getting this posted, its 2:35 am! But almost forgot it was Monday - you know how it is when you are on long week-ends!  I think that is why I turned to making my card on the fun side - I love frogs too! So last time I did a monkey card, this time its frogs! My two favs! :) Hope you enjoy this! Beverly Stampin' Up! Christmas Anyone?

You must be joking, right? Wrong! LOL! I have started on my Christmas - but I decided to use up some stash first. And I am doing a sort of mish-mash look based on a card I learned at a craft store. I am balancing some embossed and die-cutting with matting layers, and embellishments. These take a bit of time but I really do like them. They might be a bit too detailed for a craft sale, so I won't be making that many of them to sell, but they are nice and make a really nice statement to your recipient! Tip: use a circle and embed it behind some paper leaving 3/4 - 1/2 of the circle exposed and use this as a ring to tie ribbons on.

Finding Inspiration and Making it Your Own

Illustration of a card posted in Stampin' Up! My version. The beautiful 'A Rose is a Rose ' card featured in Stampin' Up!'s catalogue made me think of creating my own version. I used my own Fifth Ave Floral rose stamp - its quite substantial - and added some silver brads. A good rule of thumb is to add embellishments in an uneven number - balances your design without looking too symmetrical. So there it is - when YOU visit blogs for inspiration - enjoy your craft time afterwards and "MAKE IT YOUR OWN!' Have a rosy day! :) Beverly SUPPLIES LIST  Stampin' Up! cardstock : Sahara Sand, Real Red, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Kiwi Kiss Patterns (retired), Kiwi Kiss colouring : White Craft Ink, Stampin' Pastels, glitter; embellishments : silver brads, filigree silver brads; craft tools : paper piercer; Signo Uni-ball Pen in white, Blender Pens.

Stamping for fun.

Late (again) last night I went to play with my stamps. My first creation of a flower made with repeating pattern of butterflies over a simple shape.  My next was a bit of fun. Using the large mum stamp shaded with chalk pastels suddenly felt like trying to make it into a snail! LOL! Just silly really....but that's the point! So here is my first try - what a hoot - hardly looks like a snail....I need to look one up I guess, but oh well.

Some Class Cards - gorgeous!

Beautiful Shaving Foam Tags!

I really am having a great deal of fun with shaving foam - almost cracked a rib laughing when I told a friend I bumped into that I was giving a class on shaving foam and she sort of paused and said "what kinda of class ARE you giving that involves shaving foam!?" ....and that's when I realized for the first time how it sounds when you say it that way - - and I was "NO! not like what you're thinking! Or whatever you're thinking!! ha ha!" {she's a nurse - so } - -well, anyways we both had a good laugh. But here is some of my first results with it - I've made some lovely tags! See the background is the paper that has been marble-ized with the shaving foam and inks? Then I used some Stampin' Up Big Shot Dies {one has a flower which was cut in paper and tissue}, and some cut out pieces from various stamps to make 'chic' tags! It's pleasant to sit and craft with bits and bobs - like decorating a safety pin with beads {pull it apart...

Fathers Day Card

F ATHERS DAY CARD Paper quilting is a favourite trick for card-making.  A Top Note die-cut was covered with  scrap papers, then layered  on to Kiwi Kiss cardstock which was cut leaving a small border. The Top Note shape has a point and would be troublesome to stand on its own, and so I would make an 'easel'.  So I created a large 'A ' with a supporting leg behind it, and added a shelf. {double-thickness plus glued a thin wood stir stick for added support}  DAD stamped assemblage secured by a clip in place and topped with a tin star!  Hope you like it!
